A classic industrial work table in maple, this bench features two vises and a small drawer that complement its generous work space. The pine drawer--probably added later--is a nicely functional accessory.

According to the attached tag, this bench was sold by the A. W. Gerstner Co., originally begun as Braunsdorf & Gerstner in 1885 as purveyors of fine quality hardware and tools. By the early 1900s, the A.W. Gerstner Company was advertizing in Billboard Magazine as having "the largest stock of theatrical stage hardware and tools."
