A large gold leaf rococo revival dressing mirror, c.1860, labeled Charles N. Robinson, Philadelphia. This large-scale mirror typifies the Rococo revival theme in the scrolled pediment, which is repeated both in the side supports as well as in the feet. Leaf carving further embellishes this piece throughout and as a whole, gives an imposing presence. The label is affixed to the back of the mirror and in a wonderful advertising piece, colorful of its time historically.
