Louis XIV Style Oak Bonnetiere
This beautiful Oak bonnetiere (narrow one door armoire) is in very good condition as it was recently refinished. Circa 1890.
This bonnetiere acts as a wonderful storage cabinet for small, narrow spaces. These pieces were originally used in France to store women's bonnets or hats. Today, they are multi-functional as they fit into small places in any room. This particular one was used for hanging clothes as an extendable rod has been added to the top of the interior.
The front door panel has three different sized rectangular panels with fleur de lys ornamentation in all four corners. The interior has red French toile fabric and the extendable clothing rod. If desired, any number of shelves could easily be added.
