This antique shaving mirror--from a century before Burma Shave--shows the prominence of place that shaving once had. A gentleman used a hot towel to soften his beard before mixing and applying shaving cream with a badger brush, then scraping away his whiskers with a straight razor. This was a time-consuming practice that deserved a quality piece such as this mirror with a large storage drawer. Beautifully grained mahogany covers the whole unit and the gilded paw feet finish off its grand appearance. Circa 1850, this mirror measures 39" tall, 32" wide and 18" deep.
